Our hydraulic Crane Dampers dampen swaying and vibrations. They are suitable for all types of cranes, from the smallest logging trailers to the largest container cranes. Each Crane Damper is comprised of a Load Damper combined with a Swaying Damper.
We’ve optimized our crane dampers so that you not only get the most from your crane, but also yourself – faster crane movements, reduced wear on parts, and improved operator ergonomics.
The greatest effect is achieved by fitting a damper on the lifting cylinder. The crane’s lifting motion comes to a smooth but distinct stop instead of swaying. The lifting damper is comprised of one or more accumulators and throttle valves (corresponding to the springs and shock absorbers of a modern car). You can also dampen the slewing function, using either a throttled slave cylinder or the same principle as for the lifting damper. If you’d like a really smooth experience, you can even dampen the outer boom. Most or all jolts – the choice is yours.
In your damped environment, there’s less swaying and more focus on what’s to be done. Experience shows that your crane control can actually be up to 30 percent faster with a crane damper. Imagine what you can get done in that time.
We’ve designed our Crane Damper to dampen both pressure peaks and vibrations. The risk of failure due to metal fatigue in a crane or crane mount drops dramatically, according to some studies by as much as 50%.
